Microsoft Excel Flash Fill Explained

If you are working with MS excel "Flash Fill" very convenient option for extract the data from data bundle. Let's discuss with following examples.

Example 1 : Extract Numbers from Data Set

Assume you have numbers and letters mixed data set, and you want to separate the numbers from data set.

First manually type the at least two data examples in next column as you want to extract.

Select next cell and click Flash Fill. Flash Fill will fill the rest data for you.

This function works correctly only if you give the correct example for Flash Fill. in above example you see the B12 cell is empty because there is no number in the correspondent data.

Example 2 : Extract Last Two Numbers
