| Mail Decryption error in ProtonMail |
If some content encrypted with encryption key, content can not read without decrypting with encrypted key. without encryption key content become unreadable / unusable. ProtonMail uses the same theory, ProtonMail is encrypted mail box, user password is key to ProtonMail encryption and ProtonMail can not decrypt mail(s) without user password.
Why this error message?
This situation occurs when user forgot the password. if any user forgot their password(s), user can reset password with forgot password reset option

by resetting password user can gain access to mail box but ProtonMail can not decrypt the e-mails which are received before password reset, because those e-mails not encrypted with new password. that's why ProtonMail displays decryption error. i think that's mean if you forgot your password you loose your e-mails too
